Not sure if I'll stick around

So, my subscription has expired. And I have maxed out all my loan money that's how broke I am, so renewing it is really not something on my list of things to spend money on. Plus, I'm not sure I like what DA has been forced to become. I feel kind of like it's become too big to handle. Plus, my life has been painfully crazy lately and I haven't updated in months. Nor do I foresee myself doing it anytime soon. It doesn't help that a lot of my favoured artists have left for personal or pseudo-political reasons.

I'm not going to delete any of my stuff, but I just thought I'd let you all know that I'm probably not going to be adding anything new either. Maybe I'll comment once a month or so, possibly still add things to my faves.

If I use DA for anything though, it will probably be ordering prints... when I'm not so in debt.

I might switch to Flickr. I would've already if I didn't need a yahoo ID. I just got rid of all of mine and  am not keen on needing one again.

Possibly now I'll have the incentive to create a website. My own dotcom perhaps. I have 3 people offering me hosting. I need a refresher in flash, but after that I should be alright. Hm. We'll see.

Thoughts on any of this, anyone?

Life calendar...

Personal News:

So, the past week has been crazy, and the future looks a bit crazy too. Going to sum things up in a calendar list of what's going on.

June 21st: My grandpa on my mother's side died. :(
June 22nd: 8 hour long reiki training
June 23rd: 8 hour long reiki training, MY FIRST REAL PHOTO PASS! We Are Scientists concert

June 26th: potluck at work, packing to go home, helping a friend move
June 27th: Bus home (Duluth) for grandpa's  visitation
June 28th: Grandpa's funeral (I'm been given the honour of doing a reading)
June 29th: Bus home (Minneapolis)
June 30th: Attempt to score a photo pass for She Wants Revenge

July 1st: Assist with wedding photos (professional)
July 2nd: Assist with wedding photos (professional)
July 3rd: Assist with wedding photos (professional)
July 4th: Attend all day festival

and then the rest of that week I try not to die. :P

So this is my life within the past week and for the next few weeks. At some point, I may get We Are Scientists photos up. Here's to hoping. I need a faster lens with a greater focal length.

Who's got an * again?

Ooo, that's right, bitches! I'm back! For the summer at least. Looking at other deviations in my daily watch list was just too much of a pain in the arse when I wasn't a subscriber. Bleh.

Semester's over. Finished the largest collection of prints that I've ever done for a single project. 17 prints, 13x19. I'll be posting some of the digital results in the coming weeks here. I'm not dead; I just had a huge photo project off the web for a bit!

Remodeling my bedroom right now. Painted the ceiling yesterday. Sucked. I got paint in my eye. Hopefully, painting the wall will be better. Steve (the house's resident contractor/computer whiz) needs to do the rewiring. Hope he gets that done today so we can rebuild that wall soon! I'm getting kind of tired of constantly having to ask my beau if I can crash at his place. Meh.

Alright, time to get to work now. See you peaches later. :D

Nuuu! o_o! [insert dramatic sobbing here]

My paid account is deeeeeaad!! My * is gone! I'm a ~ again! I was a * for so long... :: sniffles:: It's going to take awhile to get used to the ~, but that's alright. I've been so damn busy lately that a * would be wasted.

Busy. Looking for a job (still don't have one. I've got 0 monies coming in and am now running completely on parental fundage until I get someone to hire me... somewhere. Applied for 10 jobs so far. We'll see what happens). Getting ready to go to court with my landlords if I have to. Our house is shitty and we're sick of it. I may have just moved in, but one of my housemates has been fighting this since December, so we're going to combine our efforts.

Working on a Jane Calvin-esque photo project too. Got all the props for the first photo together, so I'll be shooting those pictures tonight hopefully.

And that's that, really. My physical and mental health have been questionable lately for reasons that I don't really understand, but I'd rather not get in to that.

Life right now...

Personal News:

It's kind of stupid.

Grandpa's in the hospital down in Arizona. He's been calling mom and my uncle for the past few days, acting melodramatically about how he's going to die. Mom told me nonchalantly tonight that he has congestive heart failure and reoccurring cancerous bladder polyps. Apparently he's had both for quite awhile. Thanks for that sudden and well-timed update, woman! Sheesh.

Along similar lines, a good friend of mine has precancerous cells on her cervix. She just went to the gyno for a biopsy and discovered that said bizarre cell mass is larger than the head of a gynecological q-tip. Fun stuff that is.

On the way down to Minneapolis, Davey's brake lines went out and he got into an accident. He's fine, thankfully, but still a stupid thing to have happen. dumb life.

Also, my boyfriend goes in for a minor surgery on Tuesday. And it would be very difficult for me to be there because of my classes. That really annoys me. After this surgery, we get to see if he's going to need a second one for remove his gallbladder entirely.

On a more positive note, I don't have cancer yet, but I do have a house. And a signed lease. Tomorrow I will have the keys, and $368 less in my checking account. My parent are coming down with furniture next weekend, which is one weekend not soon enough in my stressed little mind. At least I have food and a warm place to sleep until then.

New Photo/Deviation News:

I've got a style switch going on. The photo class that I'm currently in is pushing me to do things that I'd hadn't had the gall to do before, so you'll be getting a mishmash of both things you're used to seeing and some stranger things. Let me know what you think about both.

I see that I've made it past the 4000 mark as well. Thank you all for that. :)

I'm going to sleep now.
